Some people call him Richard Hatch

Some people call him Richard Hatch

I attended the Battlestar Prop Auction on Saturday and was in geek heaven among all the amazing props from BSG. Most impressive? A full-scale Raptor and Apollo’s Viper. Truly impressive to see what lengths the production of this show went to to ensure a high quality experience all around. What I wanted the most, the painting of the First Cylon War, went for $9,000. My bid was $200. Ja!

Regarding ‘Sometimes a Great Notion’, the season 4.5 premiere of BSG, I will say that it was one of the most difficult hours of television i have ever watched. It was revealing, depressing, and mind-blowing. One of the darkest episodes they’ve ever done, and it took me a full day before I had the courage to watch it again. There is one moment so unexpected, so painful, that we had to pause after it happened during my viewing party so we could all catch our breaths. Beyond that, the revelations came fast and furious, including the big one, which was surprising, but not mind blowing. Two years of speculation will diminish the impact of that revelation. Still, other plot points revealed are so complicated they make my head hurt, but I cannot wait until everything is explained!

9 episodes to go…so say we all.
